If you’re thinking of making things official with your love and popping the question, why not do it in style with an intimate and unforgettable engagement proposal idea at Edge Luxury Villas. Not only is our lakeside location the perfect backdrop for your special someone to say “yes”, our villas are perfect for a romantic moment. To get you started, here are nine ideas for a wedding proposal to help you create a magical moment you’ll both remember always, at Edge Luxury Villas in Yallingup.
Gourmet Picnic on the Overwater Balcony
Let’s start our list with our favourite, and most successful proposal idea here at Edge Luxury Villas! Surprise your partner with a gourmet picnic on the villa’s stunning overwater balcony. With views that overlook the tranquil lake and lush forest surrounds, this setting is pure magic and totally private. We can arrange a spread of delicious Margaret River treats with our “Sweet Treat” or “Celebration Package”, and a bottle of local bubbles to pop. Arae’ Design will deliver a gourmet hamper packed full with Margaret River sourced delights.
A Romantic Bubble Bath for Two
What could be more luxe than a bubble bath for two? Our Premium Villa 1 has an extra-large bath tub, comfortably fitting two adults. After your relaxing soak, surprise your partner with the ring. This setting will create the perfect vibe for a heartfelt proposal. And then you can enjoy a glass of bubbles in the bath to celebrate!

Sunset Nature Walk to the Bridge and Lake Island
Why not take a nature walk, through the bushland, leading you to our iconic bridge that connects to the island on the lake? This beautiful spot, complete with honeysuckle-draped pergola, offers a stunning backdrop for a proposal. After walking hand in hand, find a quiet moment on the bridge or the island, and ask the big question with the sounds of nature all around you. Or, we can even set up a “surprise” gourmet picnic for two, on the island.

Video Montage
Why not put together a photo slideshow or video montage of your favourite moments together, or a chronological order of your best memories? Pop it on a USB and play it on the big flat screen TV in the villa, then as the final image appears, get down on one knee to propose.
Adventure Together
For the adventurous couple, plan a fun day out in the Margaret River region, filled with activities. Start with a walk on a portion of the famous Cape to Cape Track, through stunning Yallingup coastal landscapes, followed by a visit to the local Ngilgi Cave. Food and wine more your thing? We can suggest local tour companies that pick you up from your villa. After a day of excitement together, find a picturesque spot - perhaps back at the villa or near the lake – to propose. Our beautiful setting will create a wonderful end to a memorable day that you both will cherish forever.

Puzzle proposal / Love Letter Scavenger Hunt
If you both love a game night, why not add an element of fun to your proposal? Set up a board game on the coffee table, like scrabble, spelling out “Marry Me” when your love is distracted. Or how about a scavenger hunt around your villa? Leave love letters or notes at different locations, each one leading to the next, with memories and reasons why you love your partner. The final clue can lead them to a beautifully set up area on the overwater balcony or on the lake's floating jetty, complete with flowers, candles, wine and the ring waiting for them.

Proposal Amongst the Vines
Asking “will you marry me” amongst the Margaret River vineyards, after a wine tasting or romantic winery lunch at Clairault Winery, is one of the best ideas to propose out there! You'll be pleasantly tipsy from the wine and the vines will make a seriously dreamy backdrop to get down on one knee. And you know what? We even have our own lush micro vineyard here at Edge Luxury Villas! It’s right by the villas and leads down to the lake.

Go Stargazing
Wait for the sun to set and enjoy a night of stargazing. Being deep in the countryside, we have no light pollution and stargazing with clear skies is absolutely incredible. You can do this yourself with a stargazing app and lots of blankets under the night sky. Get your timing right and you might even see the aurora australis.

Take the pressure off and let someone else focus on capturing this romantic moment perfectly for you. Place of Love Photography is an expert in capturing love stories.
